Energies of the Earth

Iridescent purples, opalescent blues, phosphorescent greens, bold reds, zesty oranges and rich metallics are some of the most attractive and energizing colours that fill our everyday landscape. We see them reflected in the magnificent sky and mirrored in the wings of insects and in layers of dirt. These are the colours of the energies of our Earth. They are the life forces of the same elements that make up our material bodies.  In this series of paintings, through the use of mixed media techniques, recuperated and organic materials and bright colours, I explore and express these fantastic elemental energies with a hint of whimsy as I delve into the esoteric nature of the Earth’s rippling forces.
